Telecom Engineer

The Telecommunications Engineer will work as a member of a team to provide bill of materials, submittals, and design oversite for our many exciting projects. This position requires 5-10 years of experience with structured cabling, OSP cabling, and telecom room buildout. Additional experience in LAN switching, access control, video surveillance system, and AV is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Review drawings, specifications and other documents to gain a complete understanding of the full low voltage scope of work.
Provide equipment and material submittals specific for each project.
Provide, and/or review, an accurate bill of materials for each system within the project scope.
Provide mark ups or design oversight to the CAD/Design team for shop drawings, sketches, or details.
Work with clients and customers on design build or design assist projects.
Aid the estimating team with specific systems details and components as needed.
Perform site walks with project manager/foreman to review quality of work and trouble shoot systems as need.
Provide training and certifications for team as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-10 years of telecommunications engineering experience.
Strong understanding of structured cabling, OSP and telecom room buildout
Experience with BAS, fire, area of refuge and AV is preferred
Industry certification (BICSI, RCDD, CTS, or other)
Manufacture certification is a plus.
Experience working in government, municipality, transportation, commercial, sports and entertainment markets is a plus.
Post-secondary certificate preferred
Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company
Ability to pass background checks for access to sensitive projects (government, military, aviation, etc.)
