Concourse D-Widening, HJAIA

Atlanta, Georgia

The Modular Construction process used in this project is the first of its kind. This required trade partners to be brought on early in design to assist with creating the best possible execution plan. The project required large modular sections to be constructed offsite and then wheeled across the runway and secured to the existing concourse. Maintaining airline gate operations is of the utmost importance.

Working with the City of Atlanta, Airport staff, and the Design/Engineering team to create an execution plan that minimized cost and maximized the uptime of airline gate operations.

Construction has not yet begun. We are awaiting final 100% construction documents, which will prove to be under budget for Symphony’s scopes of work. The owners are awaiting an historic tax credit. Once that is achieved, construction will begin.
